On March 12, 2025, SK Hynix announced that it has been named one of the "World’s Most Ethical Companies 2025", an annual list published by the Ethisphere Institute, a global authority on ethical business standards. This marks the first time a South Korean semiconductor company has been included in the ranking.
The World’s Most Ethical Companies list is compiled based on the Ethics Quotient®, a proprietary framework developed by Ethisphere that evaluates corporate ethical practices across five key categories: compliance and ethics programs, corporate governance, ethical culture, environmental and social impact, and supply chain ethics. This year’s list includes 136 companies from 19 countries across 44 industries, with four semiconductor firms making the cut, including SK Hynix.
Commitment to Ethical Business Practices
SK Hynix attributed this recognition to its long-term commitment to corporate ethics, stating that the company has proactively set ethical business goals and implemented systematic monitoring and compliance measures to ensure best practices. The company emphasized that its globally recognized ethical management framework enhances corporate trust and strengthens stakeholder relationships.
A key factor in securing this achievement is employee engagement in ethical business initiatives. SK Hynix conducts annual "Ethical Practice Pledge" and "Ethical Practice Surveys", encouraging employees to actively participate in corporate integrity efforts. These initiatives have helped foster a self-sustaining ethical culture within the company.
Expanding Ethical Practices to Partners
Since 2023, SK Hynix has extended its ethical business practices to its supply chain, launching a partner ethics program that shares its compliance expertise and operational framework with business partners. This initiative aims to establish a collaborative ecosystem that upholds the highest standards of business integrity across the industry.
