Les diodes électroluminescentes (DEL) sont des dispositifs semi-conducteurs qui émettent de la lumière lorsqu'elles laissent passer un courant. Les DEL de cette famille sont proposées en configuration simple ou en matrice pour l'indication d'état sur des cartes de circuits imprimés. Elles se distinguent par le boîtier, la longueur d'onde, l'angle de vision, la tension directe, l'intensité nominale, l'intensité lumineuse en millicandela, la couleur et le type de montage. Les configurations incluent anode commune, cathode commune et bidirectionnelle.
