This innovative design marks a major advancement in power electronics by significantly boosting system efficiency and simplifying circuit design.
The CoolGaN™ G5 transistors are engineered to reduce dead-time losses, a common issue in high-performance power systems. By integrating a Schottky diode directly into the GaN transistor, Infineon has optimized the device for enhanced reverse conduction performance, resulting in lower power loss and greater overall energy efficiency.

The new CoolGaN™ G5 transistors are ideal for a wide range of power-demanding industrial and consumer applications, including:
Intermediate Bus Converters (IBC) in telecom and server infrastructure
DC-DC converters
USB-C battery chargers using synchronous rectification
