India's Tessolve has acquired Dream Chip Technologies (DCT), a leading chip design company based in Hanover, Germany, in a deal valued at INR 4 billion (€42.5 million or $47.4 million). DCT, which employs 72 people, was previously acquired by Chinese company Goodix Technology in 2020.
On November 5, Goodix Technology announced that it plans to transfer 100% of the equity held by its wholly-owned subsidiary, Goodix Hong Kong, in DCT GmbH and DCT B.V. to Tessolve Engineering Service Pte. Ltd. After the completion of this share transfer, Goodix Hong Kong will no longer hold any equity in the target companies. The initial transaction price agreed upon by both parties is €42.5 million.
In 2023, DCT launched a 10 TOPS automotive AI chip, utilizing accelerators from the Technical University of Dresden and Cadence, along with the Alcatraz functional safety core based on ARM Cortex-R52, a dual-core ARM Cortex-A65 processor cluster, and Arteris FlexNoC on-chip network.

Tessolve, headquartered in Bangalore, India, employs 3,000 people and is a division of Hero Electronix, which also produces the globally best-selling motorcycle brand, Hero. This acquisition is part of India's efforts to strengthen its sovereign semiconductor supply chain. The Indian semiconductor industry is set to establish a wafer fabrication plant in Gujarat and packaging facilities in Gujarat and Assam.
Tessolve co-founder and CEO Srini Chinamilli stated, "This acquisition strengthens our position as one of the world's top semiconductor engineering companies, with unparalleled design-to-product capabilities. DCT's expertise further enhances our ability to undertake cutting-edge ASIC design projects and significantly boosts our presence in Europe."
