On February 5, 2025, Arm China announced that Chen Feng has officially joined the company as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Chen succeeds Liu Renchen and Chen Xun, who have stepped down from their roles as co-CEOs. The transition will be completed by the end of February, during which the outgoing executives will serve as advisors to ensure a smooth handover.

GlobalFoundries: Tim Breen Named CEO

On February 5, 2025, GlobalFoundries (GF) announced a major leadership restructuring:

Thomas Caulfield has been appointed as Executive Chairman of the Board.

Tim Breen, the current Chief Operating Officer (COO), will step up as CEO.

Niels Anderskouv, currently Chief Business Officer (CBO), will take over as President and COO.

Skyworks' Q1 2025 earnings report showed revenue of $1.068 billion, marking a 4% increase compared to the previous quarter. The company expects Q2 revenue to range between $935 million and $965 million.

Tower Semiconductor: Rachel Xie Appointed as China General Manager

On February 6, 2025, Tower Semiconductor, a global leader in analog foundry services, appointed Rachel Xie as General Manager of Tower China, effective February 1, 2025.

Tower Semiconductor is known for its expertise in RF, high-performance analog, CMOS image sensors, power management, and MEMS. The company operates fabs in Israel, the United States (California & Texas), and Italy. It also partners with STMicroelectronics in Italy and collaborates with Intel for additional 300mm wafer production capacity in New Mexico.

According to TrendForce, Tower’s Q3 2024 revenue was $371 million, a 5.6% quarter-over-quarter increase, giving it a 1% global foundry market share, ranking seventh worldwide.

Microchip Technology: Victor Peng Joins Board of Directors

On February 4, 2025, Microchip Technology, a leading embedded control solutions provider, appointed Victor Peng to its Board of Directors, effective February 10, 2025.

Victor Peng previously served as:

President of AMD, overseeing key initiatives in AI, GPUs, and data center processors.

CEO and President of Xilinx, where he led the company’s transformation before its acquisition by AMD in 2022.

Executive roles at KLA Corporation, bringing over 40 years of semiconductor experience.
